Busy Bees Preschool is looking to recruit a new Preschool Practitioner
Type of vacancy: Permanent – part time – 7 flexible hours per week and possible opportunities to increase hours.
Rate of pay: Dependent upon experience and qualifications.
Due to expanding numbers we are seeking a caring, enthusiastic and self-motivated person who is able to maintain and continue to deliver a safe, stimulating, nurturing child-centred environment. The successful candidate will be able to work within a small team of dedicated childcare practitioners with a range of experiences. The successful candidate should be a strong role model for staff, children and parents.

Busy Bees Preschool is a small, committee-run, pack away setting and forest school located in the centre of the village of Bishops Sutton, near Alresford. The setting is based in Bishops Sutton Village Hall with additional outside space overlooking the surrounding countryside and woodland.
The preschool accepts children from the age of 2yrs until school age and both families and children are supported by a very warm friendly team of practitioners.
Skills & qualifications
- Minimum Level 2 Childcare qualification.
- Paediatric first aid preferred.
- Some safeguarding knowledge preferable
- A sound understanding of equal opportunities.
- A positive and understanding approach to behaviour management.
- Excellent written and verbal skills and organisational skills.
- Excellent reflective and evaluation skills.
- A good knowledge and understanding of how children learn and develop.
- A sound knowledge of the EYFS.
- A commitment to keeping up to date with ongoing training.
- A knowledge of Tapestry software is desirable.
Potential candidates will be required to undergo an enhanced DBS disclosure.

Busy Bees is pleased to announce that it was rated ‘Good’ in all areas in its latest Ofsted inspection, which took place recently.
The inspector commented on effective safeguarding and that the quality of teaching, learning and assessment is good.
She noted that the children develop good physical skills, coordination and control of their movements and that they thoroughly enjoyed a diverse range of activities, with activities such as the Forest School helping the children learn to assess risk and behave safely.

Join us for some crafty Christmas activities and festive frolics on Saturday 9th December from 10 am-12 noon at Bishops Sutton Village Hall.
Kids can make some sparkly decorations and decorate a Christmas biscuit and mum and dad can enjoy a coffee and cake in our cafe.
Tickets cost £3 per child and include all activities, glitter tattoos and a biscuit to decorate.
Real Christmas trees will also be available to buy in the hall car park!

From January 2018 Busy Bees Preschool will be offering the 30 hours Extended Government Funding with flexible drop off and pick up during term time. Rated ‘good’ in all areas in a recent Ofsted inspection and based in a lovely rural location in Bishops Sutton Village Hall, Busy Bees takes funded and non -funded children from the age of 2 years up to school age.
New session times will be as follows:
- Monday, Wednesday & Friday: 8.30am to 12 o’clock
- Tuesday & Thursday : 8.30am to 2pm

Join us on Sunday 12th November for our Festive Food fair – everything you need to eat, drink and be merry over the festive period!
Tastings, demos, cafe, raffle and lots of tasty ideas and inspiration for festive dining and entertaining from local producers.
Tickets are available in advance from Busy Bees Preschool or on the day for £5 per person. Kids go free.
Exhibitors include the Winchester Distillery who will be doing tastings and selling bottles of of their lovely Hampshire Gin and Twisted Nose ranges of gins, and Itchen Valley Brewery who will be doing tastings of their real ales and beers as well as selling pints on the day.

Busy Bees Preschool in Bishops Sutton will be holding a Bags2School collection on Wednesday 27th September. The scheme allows schools to raise funds by collecting unwanted clothing, shoes and bags for reuse and recycling.
All donations of clothing, shoes and bags are gratefully received and help raise much needed funds for our preschool.
